“God’s kingdom is like an acorn that a farmer plants. It is quite small as seeds go, but in the course of years it grows into a huge oak tree, and eagles build nests in it.”
Matthew 13:31-32 (Message)
95% of Christians say they came to faith between the ages of 0 to 18*, so how can we help today’s children and young people experience the Good News of Jesus for themselves and grow up with a faith of their own? How can we best support families at a time when growing numbers of children are experiencing hardship, anxiety and mental health issues?
The Acorn Appeal aims to raise funds to employ a children and families worker for the parishes of the Ashburton and Moorland Mission Community for five years.
Our target in 2024 is £20,000. We have had £12,000 pledged already. We are also applying for grant funding and planning fundraising events.
We would be grateful if you would consider making a one-off donation to the Acorn Appeal or setting-up a monthly direct debit. Every donation will make a difference. No acorn is too small!
